Calling hero MIA is unarguably one of the most important parts during laning phase, and can mean the difference between a teammate dying or surviving. However, typing MIA out can be a hassle and waste you a few precious seconds. You can set up chat macros to facilitate the MIA calling process. Setting it up only takes a few minutes and can make your life overall a lot easier.
Here is a screenshot of the macro in action:
Here is a step-by-step on how to set it up:
- Open Notepad
- Paste this in
//Clan Fortune’s Solace
//Arrow Keys for MIA
//Shift + Arrow Keys for Rune and Roshan
bind “SHIFT” “+Rune”
alias “+Rune” “bind LEFTARROW TopRune; bind RIGHTARROW BotRune; bind DOWNARROW RuneSpawned; bind UPARROW Roshan”
alias “-Rune” “bind LEFTARROW TopMIA; bind RIGHTARROW BotMIA; bind DOWNARROW MidMIA; bind UPARROW NoMIA”
alias “TopRune” “say_team RUNE is at the TOP river location!”
alias “BotRune” “say_team RUNE is at the BOTTOM river location!”
alias “RuneSpawned” “say_team RUNE has SPAWNED!”
alias “Roshan” “say_team <<<Check ROSHAN!>>>”
alias “TopMIA” “say_team WARNING: A hero is missing from the TOP lane.”
alias “BotMIA” “say_team WARNING: A hero is missing from the BOTTOM lane.”
alias “MidMIA” “say_team WARNING: A hero is missing from the MIDDLE lane.”
alias “NoMIA” “say_team Hero has returned.”
- Save it as Autoexec.cfg
- Place it in this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg
OR, you could download the Autoexec.cfg from this MediaFire link , and place it in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg
The macro uses arrow keys, so if you have them binded already, you might want to unbind them.
Good luck, and happy playing!
